WHERE DID THE NAME FOOLISH CHICKEN COME FROM?
Mary, a family friend, has written short stories for her grandchildren for many years. Her stories are all based on ”The Foolish Chicken”, a little chicken who travels the world, experiencing adventures wherever he goes! The name has turned out to be quite appropriate, since opening this restaurant has been nothing short of an adventure…and maybe even a little foolish!!!

Have eaten here several times always asking for items on the menu that are gluten and dairy free. The food is always excellent with loads of flavour. Recently, I tried the gluten free chicken fingers which were also great. The only thing I would add is I wish they offered a larger selection of alcoholic cider and gluten free deserts. Not a fan of Strongbow and would like to see Angry Orchard or Woodchuck even the local ciders would be good. We'll definitely be returning .Jen S.Munster, ON
The owner was very nice. My girlfriend and I missed our bus and he offered to take us to the nearest bus station to catch up to it. Amazing customer service + good food (gluten free available) She had the chicken fingers and I had the ribs. We then had the brownie desert with the vanilla ice cream (all gluten free!). I really love everything about this restaurant. It's in a cute little building, the owners are very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend you try it!Luc-Rock P.Ottawa, ON
I've been a few times here and love it. The sweet potato fries and chicken wings were great appetizers. The ribs are a must try for sure, tender and not dry at all.Kathryn G.Gloucester, ON.
Stopped here after the opening day of the women's World Cup. My wife, daughter, and I split the ribs and half chicken combo. The ribs were fall off the bone good and the chicken was succulent. My daughter also ordered a side of fries with gravy. The fries were delicious and the gravy was some of the best we ever had. We came in close to closing time and Bridget, the owner's daughter, was extremely welcoming and did not rush us at all. She was pleasant, engaging, and added to our positive experience. This place is outside the center of the city in a neighborhood setting. Our only regret is that we did not take some cheesecake to go. It is well worth the trip and we will go back again when in the area. You won't go wrong stopping here for food.Rodger KNewton, United States
